Building on the mechanisms learned in the Intermediate course, explore more complex and specialized conventions, including use of the Regions & Countries table, geographical classification in the H & P schedules, and treatment of translations, biographies, and bibliographies. (Starts from the point of an already established base class number.) Note: Because of their highly specialized practices, classification of maps, atlases, law materials, and music are not addressed in this series of courses.

 Objectives:

 Become familiar with the special cuttering practices, general tables, and schedule-specific tables that deal with subarrangement for:

  1. Geographical subject or origin of the resource
  2. Translations
  3. Biographies
  4. Bibliographies

You need to have previously taken the Assigning LC Call Numbers Basic and Intermediate classes or have that knowledge prior to taking this workshop.
